Forge & Folio is a two-person studio run by Mara Holloway, a former book conservator, and her partner Eli Vance, a furniture-maker turned pressman. We took over an old carriage house in 2017, refurbished a 1928 Vandercook by hand, and have been making paper goods on it every day since.

We work slowly on purpose. Every job is proofed in person, printed in short runs, and finished without shortcuts. We say no to more work than we say yes to, because the point of a piece of letterpress is the time someone took with it.
